One fantasy series I was hooked on to was Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs.
“I used to dream about escaping my ordinary life, but my life was never ordinary. I had simply failed to notice how extraordinary it was.”
― Ransom Riggs, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

If I had to describe these stories in one word, it would be transcendent. The orphanage's idea of being an environment that transcends the world's limitations and restrictions is a compelling one. This is a transcendent universe, guarded by a bird and packed with tales of children with talents beyond individual comprehension. This universe is a model for what should be, with transformative opportunities that stretch far beyond the realm of life.
The author's imagination is so wild and it can be seen in these stories. There are pictures in these books to go along with the story, but the interesting thing is that the pictures actually came before the story. Ransom Riggs used the pictures he found to create these wonderful and unforgettable adventures. I would definitely recommend reading this series if you're into fantasy and peculiar superpowers. Once I picked up the first book, I wanted to read the next one and the next one until I reached the end of the series.
This series has six books in total. The six books are listed below along with an extra book about more peculiars.
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
Hollow City
Library of Souls
A Map of Days
The Conference of the Birds
The Desolations of Devil's Acre
EXTRA: Tales of the Peculiar
